My Journey…..So far.

The first memory I have of a horse is riding bareback on a pony named Pepper. My mom would lead us, for what felt like hours, through the trails in the neighborhood. I could have stayed on all day and never lost the sense of joy and contentment. I started real riding lessons at the age of 4 on a POA named Freckles. The riding instructor took a gamble on me being so young but was thoroughly surprised by my ability to focus. I learned all the basics and was endlessly fascinated with all things that had to do with horses. From picking up manure to riding on the beach, I loved every minute! When I was eleven years old, my parents graciously bought me my first horse.

These early experiences were the catalyst for my horsemanship journey. Since then, horses have been in my life in abundance, and I am so grateful for every single interaction.

Over my 40 years on this planet, I have had formal horsemanship training, an Equine Specialist certification through the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association(Eagala), and an Equine Professional Certification through Arenas For Change. Additionally, I am a Lazaris Nerve Release Practitioner and hold a certification in Equine Photonic Therapy. I have given numerous lessons to adults and children of varying skill levels, worked with horses from diverse backgrounds, and co-facilitated Equine Assisted Psychotherapy/Learning to a range of populations. In addition to my formal training, I consistently seek out information to deepen my understanding, which is continually evolving. I regularly participate in clinics, explore different horsemanship methods, learn about emerging equine research, as well as, practice personal empowerment techniques and mindfulness strategies.

I am deeply passionate about continuous self-improvement and growth. The horses are amazing beings who have assisted me on this never-ending journey!
